This week I worked on a group project on a 5 day Prince's Trust course in Liverpool to create a game jam flash game. I was the lead artist for the group I was in and because I wanted to learn how to do pixel art for retro style games I chose an 8 bit style for the art I did, with Nintendo NES and Intellivision games main influences for the work I did.
Because my two other team members have learning difficulties and were really struggling with how to put this game together, I took on the lead creative role as well as lead artist to make sure we got the game we were working on finished for this short game jam. I came up with the idea of a satirical fantasy versus side shooter based on the recent US Election and certain scandals surrounding the two presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The Trump character I made is a toad dragon that shoots dollar bills and the Clinton character is a wolf character named Hildog after a skit from South Park, and she shoots emails.
